Google and Yahoo Merger?
No, but Google and Yahoo are in talks to incorporate the Google Ad-Sense Advertising techniques to the Yahoo search engines and other Yahoo owned programs. Currently Google is responsible for 70% of all advertisements put out online. Yahoo owns about 20%, while the other 10% is made up of individual advertising firms. Vice President of Google, Omid Kordestani, stated that Google already provides a similar service to Ask.com and AOL. This means that Google would be responsible for all advertising on Ask, AOL and Yahoo, the three largest search engines excluding Google of course. Yahoo states “Advertisers will pay Google directly for each click on Google paid search results appearing on Yahoo owned and operated network or certain affiliate sites. Google will share a percentage of such revenue with Yahoo”. The only problem that arises here is the issue of a monopoly. Microsoft is Google’s biggest threat. Microsoft is willing to take Google to court, on the premise that Google is becoming a monopoly, and that it owns more than 90% of all advertising from the internet. Google’s position is that it is the internet, and advertising, and that they aren’t technically a monopoly yet, since 10% is still unaccounted for. For more logistics visit betanews.com
